Holt Integrated Circuits HI-3110 Passes CAN Conformance Test at C&S Group GmbH

Monday, January 16, 2012

Mission Viejo, CA (January 16, 2012) Holt Integrated Circuits, a leading supplier of data bus components for commercial and military avionics, today announced independent validation of its HI‑3110 CAN controller at C&S group in Germany.  C&S group GmbH, an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited test house, is the industry recognized authority for validation of CAN controllers according to protocol specification ISO 11898.

The validation was performed to test specification ISO 16845:2004. In addition, C&S group performed additional conformance tests not covered by the original ISO test specification.    A copy of the final test report is available upon request.

Validation of Holt’s CAN controller at C&S group guarantees conformance and correct protocol response when connected within an avionics CAN network,” said Anthony Murray, Director of Business Development at Holt.  “In addition, compliance to ARINC 825, General Standardization of CAN Bus Protocol for Airborne Use, makes Holt’s HI-3110 the controller of choice for avionics.”

Holt’s HI-3110 avionics CAN controller is the industry’s first to integrate the analog transceiver on the same chip as the digital protocol engine.  It also provides additional attractive features such as deep FIFOs, a flexible frame filtering scheme tailored to ARINC 825 and short-circuit survival to +/- 58V.  A protocol-only version, HI-3111, is also available, as are development kits and software.  The devices are available in industrial −40oC to +85oC and extended −55oC to +125oC temperature ranges and are offered in 18‑pin SOIC or compact 44-pin QFN packages.
