Mission Viejo, CA (June 13, 2003) - Holt Integrated Circuits announces that its family of low power, CMOS, dual transceivers for MIL-STD-1553 databus applications are now available in the world’s smallest plastic chip-scale package. Measuring just 7 mm x 7 mm x 0.9 mm, the HI-1573PCI and HI-1567PCI are only half the board footprint of transceivers available elsewhere. Holt is the only company to offer two independent transceivers in such a tiny package, allowing designers to dramatically reduce board space and making PCMCIA format terminals simple to construct.
The new package has a thermally conductive heatsink built into the bottom surface of the package. Unlike earlier products, the heatsink is electrically isolated from the transceiver die, allowing it to be soldered down to any convenient, thermally dissipative power or ground plane.
Production quantities of the new design are available now.
This new transceiver package complements Holt’s existing HI-1567, HI-1568, HI-1569 and HI-1570 MIL-STD-1553 transceivers and the HI-15530 Manchester Encoder / Decoder. Additional, innovative MIL-STD-1553 product offerings from Holt are scheduled for release later this year.
