Mission Viejo, CA - The HI-15530 is the most recent product to be released in the company’s rapidly growing Mil-Std-1553 product line. In its commitment to applying low-power, low-cost, small footprint COTS technology to Mil-Std-1553 systems, Holt has developed the HI-15530, a high performance CMOS integrated circuit designed to meet the requirements of Mil-Std-1553 and similar Manchester II encoded, time division multiplexed, serial data protocols. It contains both an Encoder and Decoder that operate independently.
The HI-15530 is a low cost, low power direct replacement for the Intersil (Harris) HID-15530, GEC-Plessey MA-15530 and Aeroflex ACT15530. It is available as an industry-standard 24-pin ceramic DIP as well as a COTS 24-pin plastic SOIC package. Commenting on this new part, David Mead, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Holt said, “This new product, in the SOIC format, is ideal for designs where board space and component height are critical, as in the PCMCIA format terminals.”
Applications for this new part include Mil-Std-1553 and ARINC 708A interface, stores management, sensor interface, smart munitions and instrumentation.
The HI-15530 follows Holt’s successful launch of the world’s smallest and lowest power 5V dual transceiver, the HI-1567PSI. Now in full production, its combination of small footprint 20-pin SOIC package, low power and low cost make it an ideal solution for cost-sensitive applications requiring multiple Mil-Std-1553 Remote Terminals, as found in smart munitions and portable test equipment.
